2009 marked the inaugural year for Darden Equine's students to enter the world of horse showing.
It was a fantastic opportunity for many students who had been learning to ride over the past 2-3 years at Darden.
Darden participated in four North River Riders shows (one was cancelled due to rain); Severn Bridge Fall Fair and Coldwater Fair Horse Show.
This year Darden met and supremely exceeded our three showing goals: having fun; improving riding skills; and gaining appreciation of the entire showing experience.
Throughout the year, eight riders without any showing experience participated in their first shows and many actually brought home some very colourful ribbons to celebrate their riding success.
But it was not the ribbons that made this experience so rewarding for Darden, it was the vast experience each rider gained from the time participating for and at the horse shows and the pure enjoyment each student received when they were in the ring with their horse.
We look forward to showing with all of these students and some of our up and coming riders in 2010!
